Geoscience Pathways program (Summer 2019)
In collaboration with UTEP's Geology department, Christian and Luis give a tour of our facility to local high school students, grades 9-12, as part of the Geoscience Pathways program hosted the the Geology department and funded by Shell. Activities include a tour of the facility, magnetic levitation using liquid nitrogen, and liquid nitrogen bottle rockets
Ames Laboratory Internships (Summer 2019)
Rubyann, Hector and Dawn got a chance to work along side researchers at Ames Laboratory in Ames, IA for three months
Texas A&M and Rice University Lab Tours
(Summer 2021)
Rubyann, Czarena, Hector, Daniel, and Dr. Singamaneni got a chance to visit the different facilities and labs conducting research at Texas A&M and Rice University.

Los Alamos National Lab Tour
(Summer 2021)
Rubyann, Hector, and Dr. Singamaneni got the opportunity to take a lab tour at Los Alamos National Lab where the world's largest magnet which can be seen behind Rubyann.

SQUID Magnetometer Training
(Winter 2021)
Hector and Rubyann led the first training for our recently installed SQUID Magnetometer to research assistants from various labs on campus.
MRS UTEP Chapter Outreach Activity
(Winter 2021)
Rubyann organized a collaborative effort with our MRS UTEP Chapter to organize an outreach activity with local high school students grades 9-12. They listened to a talk by Dr. Devesh Misra who expressed the importance of materials research and how that impacts our technology, listened to the opportunities in the physics department as undergrads from Dr. Mark Pederson. They also took a campus tour and then toured labs in the physics materials and chemistry departments.
